Ryde Arts became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in February 2019 following the retirement of Carol Jaye. Carol had been at the helm of the organisation for eighteen years, running the annual Ryde Arts Festival with funding support from Arts Council England and voluntary support from the Ryde community. To ensure that we became a sustainable organisation with the capacity to continue Carol’s legacy of commissioning new work and to provide increasing cultural opportunities for the town, Ryde Arts associates responded to consultation by voting to formalise our status and management structure.

Ryde Arts CIC has a board exercising collective responsibility for the organisation. We are looking currently looking for new members to join our board. We are not just looking for creative backgrounds, although it would be great if you had an interest in creative works. Skills and backgrounds we are interested in are legal, accountancy, education, music, literature, fine arts, sculptor, theatre, dance and film.

If you want any more information or are keen to join Ryde Arts CIC board please email artsryde@gmail.com

The directors are:

Sharon George (Creative Director of Shademakers CIC, a global carnival arts company based in Ryde)

Carol Jaye (Founder and Director of Ryde Arts Festival)
